Join Sara Gast for an afternoon of gathering and arranging as she guides participants through the gardens and surrounding grounds in search of plant materials to use in their bouquets. As a foraged flower workshop, arrangements will reflect what is naturally available in the landscape at this time of year, incorporating foliage, grasses, seed heads, branches, seasonal blooms, and other unexpected elements.
After foraging, we’ll come together to create individual arrangements inspired by what we’ve gathered. Sara will share guidance on composition, balance, movement, and working intuitively with natural materials. Finished arrangements can be expected to last approximately one week.
Participants are encouraged to bring a medium-sized vase, clippers, gloves, and a box to help stabilize their arrangement for the ride home. Simple vases, a limited number of tools, and packing materials will also be available on-site.
At the end of the class, you’ll leave with your own one-of-a-kind arrangement and a new way of seeing the plants and materials growing all around us.
