Our gardens blend traditional ornamental plantings with thoughtfully selected native and regionally adapted species. It is a resilient mosaic that changes through the seasons, in ways that are beautiful and that also contribute to a diverse and healthy ecosystem.
Visitors are invited to experience the gardens at their own pace: wander along pathways that wind through sun and shade, pause by bluestone walls that frame intimate pockets of plant life, or discover quiet nooks designed for reflection and close observation. We also offer ecological gardening workshops throughout the season.
In the way that we steward our property, and through our garden workshops, Spiral House Park is committed to nurturing a deeper relationship with the land and the living systems that sustain it.
The Park has begun a multi-year transition toward a fully ecological landscape. Our gardens are living spaces that support an increasingly diverse community of pollinators — bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, birds, and many other essential creatures — drawn by the abundance of nectar, pollen, fruit, shelter, and habitat. In our woodlands and throughout our landscape, we are removing invasive species and replacing them with native plants.
Each year, we see new species of pollinators arrive, a sign that our restoration efforts are taking root.
If you’d like to learn more, consider attending one of our garden workshops. Whether you’re a casual visitor, a curious beginner, or an experienced gardener, you’ll find inspiration here — along with a growing community dedicated to caring for the local ecosystem.
We are also looking for volunteers to help us in our gardens and with other onsite activities. If you’d like to get your hands dirty, we hope you'll join us.
Come explore, connect, and see how beautiful gardens can help shape a thriving landscape. And take the opportunity to learn with our knowledgeable and engaging garden team — Lorien McCabe and Wren Waddington.
