Trails

Our 1.7 miles of family-friendly trails are designed as interconnected loops, allowing visitors to create walks of varying length and difficulty. These paths lead through the former quarries where stone was gathered to build the sculptures and the Spiral House, past notable geological features, through varied forest habitats, and to scenic overlooks that invite you to pause and enjoy the beauty of the landscape.

For the 2026 season, the trails are open Saturdays and Sundays (hours vary by season, and are always noted on our home page). Entry is free to SHP members. Grounds passes are available for purchase at our welcome table.

Pick up a trail map when you enter the park.

The “Sculpture Trail” is built to meet U.S. Forest Service accessibility guidelines, offering a smooth and gentle route through the woods to a spring-fed quarry pond — an ideal destination for visitors seeking a more accessible outdoor experience.

Whether you’re exploring with family, looking for a peaceful woodland walk, or hoping to learn more about the site’s natural and quarry history, our trail system offers an inviting way to connect with the land and will always reward close observation.

For children (and those young at heart!) we have a scavenger hunt to find ornamental birds hidden along the trails. Each one is a realistic replica of birds frequently seen in the park.
